Window of the World

While I was back in Hong Kong during my trimester break, I visited Shenzhen in China and went to the Window of the World park. It is know as a replica park, where you can see vivid replicas of the world's wonders, historical heritages and famous scenic sites. The entire masterpiece is built at ratios of 1:1, 1:5 or 1:15.

During the day, you can visit any famous places of a country such as the Eiffel Tower from Paris, the Pyramid in Egypt and so forth. You can come to this park and see other famous building design without having to go the country it self. Below are some images that I snap during my visit to the Window of the World Park.

Before the entrance to the park.
Sculpture
This was also place at the side of the park just before the entrance. I was attracted to this sculpture and how they position it and mixed it with the flower and grass, it look really beautiful. Look at how they carve the stone, pretty detail right?

After the entrance
I'm not sure from which country this came from, but just look at how they make the replica of it. It looks as if it was the original one. It was a huge wall with full of carving of faces, bodies, and there's even a carving of animal such as monkeys, elephant and I can't recall the other. It was pretty eye catchy.

I think the above building and small people sculpture are from the country of China. Its pretty amazing on how they built the small houses and the small people.

This was somewhere where they replace Korea.
I basically fall in love with this place in an instant because of the green trees and grass and small lakes. It was really beautiful. We spend a more time here rather than the other places.

Taj Mahal Replica
The Egypt Sculpture. It was quite huge but not as huge as the real one
Small buildings
The small buildings that they build to represent some countries which I can't remember. Look at how detail they build it. It was amazing and attractive!

The Eiffel tower. Again it was huge, but not as huge as the real one in Paris

Model S

Tesla Motors is a brand of a car. It comes from a company called Silicon Valley, based on the company they design, manufactures and sells electric vehicles and electric vehicle powertrain components. Tesla Motors is the only automaker of this type of electric vehicles. What it meant by electric vehicle is that, they don't used fuel, instead they used battery that could be charge, how amazing is that?!

Roadster
I think Tesla Motors has only produce two models of electric vehicles, which is called Roadster and Model S. From the above picture, the model of the car is Roadster. I really love on how they design the car. For me they design it not too over creative, it is just nice.  It immediately attract  my attention on looking at it and I guess I'm falling in love with this Tesla Motors Inc.

Comes with different exterior color
Comes with different interior color

The hood of the car can be open or close
Roadster model is made out of 288 horsepower as the car smoothly accelerates 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 second. Its fast! It can go 245 miles per charge, and it plug into any outlet, anywhere in the world.

Interior
Look at how amazing the interior design of the car! For me its very eye catchy, with the big screen in the middle and leather interior.

Next is the Model S. Model S type is more for a person that love more space in their car. Model S is seating for seven, where there is seating for five and two for children and a second cargo area under the hood. Model S gives a luxurious space.

Model S
Model S can go for 160, 230, or 300 miles per charge. It is same as the Roadster model, it plug in any outlet anywhere in the world. You can even charge for 45 minutes and the begs you to drive the car anywhere you wish to go. Model S has a top speed of 120 mph and it can go 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.

White color
For me the design looks sporty yet elegant that suites a person that has a family. It also comes with different exterior colors, such as red, silver, and white.

The interior of the car
Again! I'm falling in love with Tesla Motors. Look at how amazing the interior of this model looks like, with white leader seat, 17 inch touchscreen with 3G connectivity that can access GPS, restaurant recommendation, movie showtime and streaming radio. How amazing is that?!

What is typography?

Basically typography is an art, where an arranging of words or letters happens. The arrangement of letters or types are being done by selecting typeface, the sizes of each font, the spaces and few more. Also the type is being design or modify. Usually it is being done by illustration technique by the art directors, graphic designers and typographers.

Based on Steph "Typography is much more than just graphic design or illustration with some text thrown in. It’s an art form in itself that combines carefully chosen and arranged fonts with visual elements, sometimes as a relatively straightforward communication device and sometimes as artistic expression. These 15 examples of typography artwork embody a broad variety of techniques and styles, but they’re all brilliant."

Below are few types of typography :

"Art director, co-founder of creative studio Lifelounge and typographic illustrator Luke Lucas creates artwork that combines text with often-provocative images, as in this typographic title treatment for an article in Lifelouge Magazine about swingers in America’s bible belt."

The shape of the bottle is used to symbolize the letter "F" By Ivan Saavedra from Munich
Another example of Ivan typography work
Its really creative and amazing how a person can make a letter out of the shape of a chair or a shape of anything that exists. It gives me the encouragement of trying to do things like this in my study.

As we all know, directory sign can be found all around our us, anywhere or everywhere we go there directional sign exist with different designs, languages and so forth. So below I'm going to show some few example of directional design that I captured while I was in Hong Kong.

List of Restaurants, Shops and Services
that are available in Hong Kong airport

The floor direction of the restaurant and shopping centre in Hong Kong airport

The directory sign in Quarry Bay park in Hong Kong

Below is the directory sign that I captured in Jusco Cheras Selatan. All this signs have the same information of floor level. It is pasted on the column of the Jusco building and it is everywhere because Jusco has many entrance and helps people to know which floor they are at and where they can go. For me the design is quite simple and some of the sign could be improved.

The floor information in Jusco Cheras Selatan. The differences of colors shows us which shop is which. Such as the dark pink color represent the Jusco Mall, and the purple color represent the accessories tenant

It is the same as the above picture except, they place the floor map in a different position. This was found at the other part of Jusco Cheras Selatan wall

One and only type of directory that could be found in Jusco Cheras Selatan.

Directory sign that leads people to places they want to go, such as the cinema, washroom, elevator, telephone and handicap toilet. For me the design can be improved a to make it look more interesting.

Directory sign to parking and also the autopay station. This should be improvise especially the wire that they hand the board. They should put a bit more decoration and make it look more durable.
